A single ULP series capacitor saves space by replacing large arrays of SMT capacitors! Voted PRODUCT OF THE YEAR in Electronic Products 44th annual Product of the Year awards. Click here to read article.
The ULP Series of Ultra-Low-Profile aluminum electrolytic capacitors is a real “game-changer” for engineers designing compact electronic devices. Designed specifically for applications requiring bulk capacitance and the lowest board profiles, type ULP offers considerably higher energy density than arrays of surface mount capacitors. ULP technology allows the circuit designer to use a single component that saves space, weight, and cost while improving reliability.
With energy density exceeding 0.4 J/cc, a single ULP capacitor provides much greater bulk storage in a smaller footprint than a bank of low-profile SMT capacitors. Due to its light weight, the ULP is ideal for use in portable devices and is well-suited for a wide range of applications where height profile, board space, and weight are critical design factors. In such situations, the ULP is not only cost-competitive, but it also improves circuit reliability through use of a single component versus an entire array of SMT capacitors.
With flat ribbon-lead style terminations, it is even possible to mount the device off-board. This provides added design flexibility to maximize the use of available space.

Bulk storage, well-suited for a wide-range of applications where profile height and weight are critical design factors.
Designed specifically for today’s quick response defibrillators, the Q Series meets the reliability demands of Class III medical devices. Used extensively in professional-grade and automated external defibrillators (AEDs), the series offers designers the highest in-class energy density and broadest range of packaging options. Q Series capacitors are designed for use in monophasic and bi-phasic defibrillators with energy densities as high as 2 J/cc.
The new PPC Series of ultra-thin polymer aluminum electrolytic capacitors from Cornell Dubilier represents a totally new capacitor form factor. Designed specifically for applications requiring high ripple current and the thinnest possible profiles, type PPC opens up new product design options.
The 381-383LL snap-in series, designated with an expected life of 8,000 hours at full-rated conditions, demonstrates superb stability in capacitance and DC leakage current over time on test. The snap-in series is targeted for use in critical applications where long life and reliability are paramount.
